Cheese Palmiers

Ingredients

  • 320 g ready-rolled reduced-fat pastry
  • 20 g Parmesan cheese finely grated
  • ½ tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC and line a baking tray with non-stick baking paper, you may need two depending on the size of your trays.

  2. Lay the puff pastry flat on the work surface and sprinkle over the Parmesan cheese and paprika.

  3. Starting with the top long edge, roll it into the middle, trying to keep it as tight as possible. Roll the bottom edge up to the middle to meet and press the two rolls together a little. Leave in a fridge to chill for 15 minutes.

  4. Once chilled, cut into 32 pieces. Lay each swirl onto a baking tray, being careful that they don't unravel! With a rolling pin, flatten each swirl - the layers will press together to form one whole heart shaped piece - they should be around the thickness of a pound coin.

  5. Place in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden and crisp. Serve warm with your choice of dip!
