Beef Kofta Kebabs

Ingredients

  • 500 g 5% fat lean minced beef
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and very finely chopped
  • 1 handful fresh parsley, very finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and very finely chopped
  • 1 cm ginger, peeled and finely grated
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • 1 medium egg
  • low-calorie cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients, except the egg, into a non-reactive bowl and mix well. We find using our hands is easier.

  2. Add the egg and mix well to combine.

  3. Take a small handful of the mixture and form into a sausage shape.

  4. Thread a skewer through one of the sausage shapes and place onto a baking tray. Repeat with the remaining mixture to make 10 kofta kebabs. Once you've done them all, place them in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  6. Spray your kebabs with low-calorie cooking spray and place in the oven for 20-30 minutes, until cooked through.
