1. Unearthed Stuffed Green Peppers – 153 calories per 100g
When you’ve got a hankering for a light nibble, these Unearthed Stuffed Green Peppers will tickle your taste buds. The silky cream cheese filling really mellows the green pepper, so you’ve got a snack with the perfect kick of heat.
There’s no danger of spice in our Air Fryer Cheese, Onion and Sweetcorn-Stuffed Peppers, although the Dijon mustard can be quite punchy!
We’ve used tangy reduced-fat Cheddar and onion for bags of bold (yet slimming-friendly!) flavour. Turn to pages 150-151 in our Air Fryer book to try the full recipe.
Unearthed Stuffed Green Peppers are available from Asda, priced at £3.65 per pack.
2. Nush Protein Vanilla Fudge Almond Milk Yog – 107 calories per 100g
Deliciously creamy, this pot of Nush Protein Vanilla Fudge Almond Milk Yog is a winner for anyone with a sweet tooth. Enjoy it straight from the tub, or spoon some into a bowl with your go-to chopped fruits for a light snack or dessert.
Crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, we love Strawberry and Vanilla Waffles topped with sweet yoghurt, berries and a drizzle of low-sugar syrup.
You’ll know they’ve finished baking when they’re golden brown and firm to touch.
Nush Protein Vanilla Fudge Almond Milk Yog is available from Ocado, priced at £3.25 per pot.
3. Nescafe Iced Coffee Concentrated Caramel Flavour Espresso – 102 calories per glass
Far better for you and your budget than nipping out the coffee shop, it’s worth looking out for Nescafe Iced Coffee Concentrated Caramel Flavour Espresso. Add a drop to your morning latte or americano for a barista-quality coffee at home.
You can also pick up unsweetened or vanilla concentrates from the same range, if caramel isn’t your thing.
A slice of Coffee and Walnut Sponge Traybake always goes down a treat with a cuppa.
Nescafe Iced Coffee Concentrated Caramel Flavour Espresso is available from Tesco, priced at £5.00 per bottle.
4. Cauldron Butternut and Red Chilli Bites – 99 calories per 2 bites
These Cauldron Butternut and Red Chilli Bites are so quick and simple to warm up for a light, savoury bite. A blend of roasted butternut squash, chickpeas, mozzarella cheese and fiery chilli, there’s no shortage of gorgeous plant-based flavour packed in.
Tuck into them as they are, or serve them as part of a larger veggie-friendly spread. They’d make for a stunning accompaniment to our vibrant Vegetable Coconut Curry.
Cauldron Butternut and Red Chilli Bites are available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £2.50 per pack.
5. M&S Chicken Shawarma Kebabs – 129 calories per kebab
As the weather gets better, we’re SO ready for kebab fakeaway nights! These M&S Chicken Shawarma Kebabs cut out the fuss, since they’re already marinated in middle eastern herbs, olive oil and lemon.
Rather than a fiery heat, the lemony flavours in our Za’atar Fries spice blend would pair like a dream with tangy, spicy skewers.
The best part is you can save leftovers of our homemade spice mix refrigerated in an airtight container, ready to take chicken, lamb or veg up a notch in a pinch.
M&S Chicken Shawarma Kebabs are available from M&S stores and online at Ocado, priced at £5.00 per pack.
6. Tesco Finest Smoky Chorizo and Chicken Empanadas – 89 calories per empanada
Nothing says ‘picky tea!’ like these Tesco Finest Smoky Chorizo and Chicken Empanadas. Each one is filled with chicken and smoky chorizo in a red wine tomato sauce, for only 89 calories per parcel.
Pop them in the oven or your air fryer to crisp up in minutes, ready to enjoy with tapas-inspired dishes like Garlic Chilli Prawns.
It’s easier than you might think to make Empanadas from scratch. Our slimming-friendly recipe keeps things lower in calories by using filo pastry.
Tesco Finest Smoky Chorizo and Chicken Empanadas are available from Tesco, priced at £3.55 per pack.
7. Ninja Air Fry Pizza Slices Cheese – 374 calories per pizza air-fried
It’s interesting to see Ninja’s first-ever food range hit the shelves in Iceland! Of all the different bits to choose from (we spotted nuggets and wraps too), we went for the Ninja Air Fry Cheese Pizza Slices.
You can crisp them until golden in the oven if you want to, but air-frying definitely gets the best results. We topped ours with jalapeños and red onion.
If you like pizza, you’ll love our Air Fryer Pizza Swirls. With a tomatoey, cheesy ham and basil filling, you’ve got classic flavours wrapped up in a new, fun way.
Turn to pages 156-157 of our Air Fryer book to have them ready in 20 minutes.
Ninja Air Fry Pizza Slices Cheese are available from Iceland, priced at £2.50 for a pack of 2 slices.
8. Iceland Majestics White Choc Dipped Rhubarb and Custard – 170 calories per stick
Add something a little bit different to your freezer with Iceland Majestics White Choc Dipped Rhubarb and Custard lollies.
The nostalgic flavour pairing of rhubarb and custard works really well as a creamy, frozen treat…especially coated in a layer of white chocolate and biscuit pieces!
Did someone say ‘biscuit’? It even surprises us that this Ninja Creami Custard Cream Ice Cream comes in at just 127 calories per bowlful.
While the crunchy-biscuit centre might seem indulgent, our base is made up with a clever blend of slimming-friendly swaps.
Iceland Majestics White Choc Dipped Rhubarb and Custard are available from Iceland, priced at £1.75 for a pack of 3 lollies.
9. Hellmann’s Creamy Ranch Mayo – 218 calories per ice cream
Creamy, herby, tangy, garlicky – what’s not to love about Hellmann’s new Creamy Ranch Mayo? If you’ve got homemade chips or chicken tenders on the menu this week, trust us and squeeze some on your plate!
It’s a delicious addition to your condiments collection. Keep an eye out for Hellmann’s Spicy Ranch Mayo if you’d prefer a squeezy bottle with a kick.
Speaking of spice, our Fiery Buffalo Chicken Drumsticks are best served with a cooling dip. Once you’ve rustled up a batch, refrigerate for a day or two, until you’re ready to put them out for a summery spread.
Hellmann’s Creamy Ranch Mayo (and Hellmann’s Spicy Ranch Mayo) is available from Tesco, priced at £2.60 per bottle.
10. Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Patatas Carbonara Sharing Plates – 286 calories per 1/2 pack
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Patatas Carbonara tells us tapas season is officially here! While a medley of crispy potatoes and serrano ham in melty Cheddar and Pecorino béchamel sauce might sound too good to share, this is a ‘sharing plate’ style pack.
A small plate that’s rich and tomatoey, like our very own Spanish-Style Meatball recipe, would take your spread to the next level.
We make our meatballs from scratch and roll them slightly smaller than usual, so they’re the perfect size to soak up every last drop of sauce. The leftovers are so versatile too – serve them over pasta or salad for a cracking lunch.
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Patatas Carbonara Sharing Plates is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £4.50 per pack.
NEW Aldi Super 6 Fruit and Veg Selection
We love Aldi’s fortnightly selection of fresh fruit and veggies! They choose different items for a special offer where you can pick them up for much less than the normal price.
Here’s a rundown of the recipes we’d make with this week’s Super 6 offering.
Radish – 16 calories per 100g
Mild and peppery in flavour, radishes are so easy to prep and throw into salads or stir-fries. You can try them as part of the rainbow-coloured salad that’s piled high on our Katsu Curry Burgers.
Cauliflower – 25 calories per 100g
We’re not kidding when we tell you cauliflower is so versatile! We’ve got a whole blog filled with slimming-friendly ideas you can try, if you do pick up a floret for only 99p in Aldi’s Super 6 this week.
We’ll be rustling up a batch of Air Fryer Cauliflower Hot Wings to nibble on.
Braeburn Apples – 51 calories per 100g
You can’t beat the juicy-sweet crunch of an apple. Halfway between green and red, Braeburn apples are especially refreshing to snack on throughout the day.
If you ask us, they’re even better to snack on when they’re baked into Apple Pie Cookies…
Piccolato Tomatoes – 20 calories per 100g
Similar to Piccolo tomatoes, these Piccolatoes are a little more intense in flavour, with more of a rich, juicy sweetness than your bog standard cherry tomatoes. Try adding them to our Tuscan Chicken Macaroni and thank us later!
Extra Fine Beans – 31 calories per 100g
Add a handful of Extra Fine Beans to your main meal whenever you need a boost of green goodness. It’s far from unusual to see a handful of cheesy, crispy, Air Fryer Green Beans on our plate.
Blueberries – 57 calories per 100g
Sweet little blueberries pack a punch when it comes to vitamin C and antioxidants. While they’re great for making hearty warming bowls of porridge in the winter months, we like them best in an ice cold Blueberry Mojito when the sun is shining.
