I love love love my Ninja Food Processor and it has made life so much easier, I recommend this to all. Its look is completely neutral and inoffensive. It is as compact as it needs to be to the size of bowl you need that is provided, they could not improve any more on that. It is durable and functional and the speed setting choice with pulse included is amazing. Versatility abound with being able to chop, slice, and mix, and easy to change between the functions. The cleaning is made easy with mixing up the detergent and water in the bowl between uses and/or dismantle and store.

I washed the bowl and blades and then placed the bowl onto the base, inserted the metal chopping blade and then switched it on at the mains. I then measured some flour and butter into the bowl, put the lid on until it clicked into place and pressed the 'chop' button - but nothing happened? So I emptied the bowl and checked that the blade was in properly, which it was before placing the flour and butter back into the bowl and pressing the 'chop' button again. BUT AGAIN, nothing happened! My daughter came along and checked everything was as it should be and when she pressed the button, it worked!

I decided to make a bit more pastry, so put flour and butter into the bowl, closed it and pressed the 'chop' button and sure enough, it worked for me that time :-) I made an apple pie out of the shortcrust pastry and I must say that the pastry was perfectly short :-) So, all's well that ends well!

Washing the blade by hand was not easy: pastry had got into all the little nooks and crannies and it took me a while to get every little bit off. But the worst part was cleaning right up to all the extremely sharp blades: I cut my thumb and had to put a plaster on it :-( Next time I used it, I put hot water and a drop of washing up liquid in the bowl with the blade still in place and pressed the mix or the high button - and let the machine clean itself ;-) Did that and it cleaned the ultra sharp metal blade quite well - although I still had to wash the bowl in the sink afterwards, to get it really clean.

The thing I dislike most about this is that, due to the size of the blades, only one of the blades can be stored in the bowl. That means you have to find somewhere to keep the other huge blade and the slicing disc :-/

Great piece of machinery for the kitchen. But my goodness those blades are sharp! Be careful! Overall it handles ingredients with ease and has a good size jug to hold plenty. Haven’t tried the dough attachment yet, but it grates/slices and chops tremendously.
