I did not receive these for free in exchange for this review. I paid £8.50 for a set of 4.

The dishes are of thick, heavy glass and are attractive in general appearance. My husband's first remark on seeing them was "they look nice". However, upon closer inspection, it is clear that there are two seams on opposite sides of the dish, which give the impression that two halves were made separately and then joined. (I photographed them to illustrate this. The seams could be seen most clearly by photographing into the bowl, but the visibility of the seams is the same from the outside.)

They are single portion size and, when full, will provide a very generous helping of trifle. The INTERNAL dimensions of the bowl are: 83mm diameter at the widest part, tapering down to approx. 70mm at the bottom. The internal depth of the bowl is 60cm. Externally, the height is 105cm and the diameter at the widest part 96cm. I have photographed them next to a box of tissues to give an indication of their size.

The dishes as they were supplied to me were unboxed and loose. There is very limited information given on them or with them. For instance, there is nothing to indicate whether they are dishwasher or microwave safe, or whether they are heat resistant. I purchased mine from Chabrias Limited, they were poorly packed for transit, and as a consequence one of them arrived chipped, which demonstrates that, although the glass is thick, this will not protect the dishes from chipping if they are mishandled or dropped.

Value for money? At a cost of just over £2 per dish, they are good value for money and are cheap enough to be used as an every day item.

It is because of the lack of information, the fact that they may be prone to chipping, and the obviously visible seams running down both sides of the dish that I have given this product four and not five stars.
