Excellent roller, with a very clever but simple design, which takes the guesswork out of getting dough the right thickness. I just wish they hadn't packaged it inside so much unrecyclable plastic. Presumably it's for showing the product off in stores, but there's no need for that with products sold online.

    I used to believe that one rolling bin was much like the other. This one has changed my mind. Apart from being of the quality one would expect from Joseph Joseph, it's also quite versatile. I always had a problem judging the correct depth of whatever I was rolling. Not anymore. This one has detachable discs at either end. They're handily labeled in millimeters so you're guaranteed the correct depth every dime. Even the roller is marked by millimeters so you can roll out the correct width, and the markings have no impact on the pastry. It's like they're not there. Added to that, this roller is super easy to clean. I use it at least weekly (for over six months now). It's never let me down and looks like it's going to last a long time.

    Beautiful sturdy adjustable rolling pin!
    I recently got back into home baking for my son and it's difficult to have perfect cookies using a normal rolling pin (or at least I'm not that experienced!).
    I found this very easy to use, it perfectly level the dough and the cooking is even because of that. It's a bit more expensive than others but it's worth every cent!

    Brilliant rolling pin. Like all the Joseph products I’ve seen, it looks good but more importantly, it is perfectly designed to do its job. It made rolling out pastry for mince pies and shortbread a breeze and is a joy to use. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. These are usually more expensive so I was attracted by the price. It arrived well within the expected time and I just wish I had invested in one years ago. Happy to recommend the rolling pin and the vendor.

    I've been meaning to replace our old rolling pin for ages, and had seen this in a local department store, but for more money than this one. I came across this on Amazon at a reasonable price and bought it. It really does make rolling pastry or anything else out to an even thickness easy, just by selecting the required end ring size. It also has measurements printed into the wood so you can measure out the size or witgh as you roll. It does exactly what its supposed to. I would have given it 5 stars but for one slight defect. I noticed it as soon as I took it out of its box. I was looking it over and ran my hand down and around the rolling pin, and it's not perfectly round! It's hardly noticeable even when rolling pastry, but it's very slightly flat on the side where the measurements are printed! It makes the diameter 0.5mm smaller at that point. Most people won't ever notice it, and you can't really see it, but you can feel it when you run your hand round the wood. I used it for pastry, marzipan and icing and it looked and worked fine. However, this is a top brand and price to match it should be perfect, but for its defect it only gets 4 stars instead of five.

    What a brilliant idea! I must get baking some biscuits now to try it out. I like the way they have improved the design to lock the size rings firmly in place. I understand the original design had end caps that rotated a bit, but these don't so that is a big improvement.

    Bought this to replace a similar rolling pin tht had seen better days. Like the way that this has been designed and in practice it is meant to aid the user to achieve the exact thickness required. As others have mentioned, it is crucial that the end pins were inserted exactly centre otherwise you end up with varying thickness. The pin itself is slightly rough but believe my original one was as well initially so hopefully this will wear down over time. Price wise a little expensive but then you pay this for brand, design & quality of materials.
