Lightweight, well-made - great for handling fermented foods
I had plenty of steel sieves lying around the house, but bought this one exclusively for making fermented foods, where it's recommended that plastic be used to help prevent interaction with any of the ingredients. Got the 18cm (biggest) version, which turned out to be a lot larger than I expected... bigger than a hand-span (see pic), which makes it ideal for handling larger quantities of food. It's really lightweight too, making it good for weaker wrists - at least half the weight of comparable metal sieves I have. Really good value for the price, too!
